Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Full-Time | Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000 (based on experience)

Superior Rigging and Erecting is a specialty crane, rigging, and steel erection contractor built on safety, discipline, and accountability. Overview

The Project Engineer II is responsible for supporting planning and execution of crane, rigging, and steel erection projects with increasing independence and accountability. This role is expected to contribute to technical planning, coordinate across teams, and support field execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.

Work Location and Mobility Requirements

This position requires consistent, in-person support of active jobsites and office operations in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Candidates must be able to reliably report to these locations to perform the essential functions of the role.

  • Regular travel to local and regional jobsites is required. Candidates must be able to respond to operational needs with timely, on-site availability.
  • This position does not provide relocation assistance and is not structured for remote work.
  • Preference will be given to candidates currently located within the Atlanta, Georgia area due to the in-person and field-based nature of this role.
Primary Focus Areas

Project Planning | Lift Planning Support | Field Coordination | Technical Execution | Safety Integration

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support lift plans, work plans, and execution strategies
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability, sequencing, and risk
  • Coordinate with Operations to align manpower, equipment, and project sequencing
  • Support field execution through active jobsite engagement and issue resolution
  • Identify and escalate risks, conflicts, and execution challenges
  • Maintain project documentation, tracking, and reporting
  • Support safety planning, job hazard analysis, and compliance efforts
Performance Expectations
  • Independently supports projects of moderate complexity
  • Ensures alignment between engineering plans and field execution
  • Proactively identifies and resolves issues before escalation
  • Contributes to predictable, safe, and efficient project outcomes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or progress toward licensure preferred
  • 3–7 years of relevant construction or engineering experience
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Experience coordinating with field operations and project teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with lift planning or engineering tools preferred
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and active construction jobsite environments
  • Regular field exposure including uneven terrain and elevated work areas
