Our Extended Stay Hotel is hiring a full-time Assistant Property Manager!
The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in ensuring excellence across property operations, staff coordination, and guest services. This role plays a hands-on part in delivering compassionate hospitality, supporting the staff team, and maintaining high standards throughout the property. Key Responsibilities
Property Management
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of the property to identify maintenance or cleanliness concerns
- Report issues promptly and track resolutions with the Property Manager
- Meet with contractors and vendors as scheduled by the Property Manager
- Assist with organizing and executing facility-related projects
Staff Support and Oversight
- Help direct daily priorities for maintenance and housekeeping staff
- Perform regular inspections of rooms and common areas
- Provide real-time feedback to staff on performance and service quality
- Participate in staff meetings and 1:1s to foster a healthy, accountable team culture
Guest Service and Communication
- Cover front desk shifts, including guest check-in/out, phone/email communication, and lobby presence
- Address guest concerns, requests, and service needs with professionalism and care
- Follow up with guests who are past due on payments, using discretion and respect in all communication
Administrative and Project Support
- Support the Property Manager with administrative tasks, scheduling, and documentation
- Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned
- Maintain records and communication logs to ensure continuity of service and leadership
Weekly Schedule Breakdown
25 hours – Front desk coverage
5 hours – Property walkthroughs and inspections
5 hours – Meetings with staff and leadership
5 hours – Flex/project time
Professional Development
In addition to the key responsibilities, Assistant Property Managers will participate in a management development program, providing hands-on training and experience in the following five learning modules:
- Touchpoints Management (i.e. conducting 1:1s and team meetings)
- Human Resources (payroll, hiring and onboarding)
- Systems Management
- Inventory and Procurement
- Cross-Training
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality, customer service, or property operations preferred
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Organized, self-motivated, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable directing others and making on-the-spot decisions
- High school diploma required; some college or hospitality training preferred
- Proficient with technology and booking systems, or willing to learn
- Flexible availability, including occasional weekends or evenings
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Navigate stairs and property areas for inspections and guest support
Compensation and Benefits
- After successful completion of a 30-day probationary period, the Assistant Property Manager will be eligible for a discount on their monthly room rent at the property where they are employed.
- Additionally, all staff earn paid time off. PTO is accrued at a rate of 1 hour of earned paid time off for every 30 hours of work.
