ABOUT THE ROLE

Were seeking a dynamic and strategic Litigation Paralegal Manager to lead and elevate our litigation support function. In this role, youll oversee a high-performing team of paralegals across all phases of litigationfrom pre-filing through trial and post-trialwhile driving excellence in client service, operational efficiency, and innovation. Youll play a critical leadership role in shaping team structure, optimizing workflows, and developing talent, all while ensuring the highest standards of quality and risk management. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by aligning people, processes, and technology to meet the evolving demands of complex litigation.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of litigation paralegals (including supervisors and leads), ensuring high performance, engagement, and effective workload distribution.
  • Partner with attorneys across litigation practices to optimize paralegal utilization and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including reviews, feedback, compensation recommendations, and employee development.
  • Address performance issues with professionalism and fairness, collaborating closely with Human Resources on coaching and resolution.
  • Drive recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of paralegals, helping build a strong and scalable talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement training programs, standard operating procedures, and best practices to support litigation workflows.
  • Establish and maintain service standards, ensuring quality, accuracy, responsiveness, and adherence to court and client requirements.
  • Monitor utilization, productivity, and key metrics; identify trends and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Oversee administrative operations, including timekeeping, attendance, resource allocation, and compliance with firm policies.
  • Champion innovation and technology adoption, including litigation tools and AI-enabled solutions, to improve workflows, reduce risk, and drive operational excellence.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation paralegal experience, including support for complex litigation matters.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a law firm; multi-office leadership experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial processes.
  • Experience with eDiscovery tools and workflows, as well as familiarity with federal and state court rules and filing procedures.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a strong client service orientation and professionalism.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with strong judgment, accountability, and ability to handle confidential information.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

Washington, D.C. salary range: $144k to $202k
