About This Position
This position entails crating finished goods as well as helping other departments to meet the production/shipment schedule. Safe, efficient, and effective use of tools, equipment and materials to package and protect the finished goods for shipment to our customer.
Essential Functions
- Obtain prioritized project numbers from weekly production/shipment schedule and confirm with Lead.
- Look at orders and determine a safe way to package and ship the products.
- Maintain building pallets 3 to 4 days ahead of assembly.
- Cut counter tops according to cut sheets and glue if needed. Pay attention to order paperwork. Countertops can be laminate, stainless or aluminum.
- Inspect cabinets when needed and initial the check of list as well as the inspection list.
- Assist in wrapping cabinets & accessories when needed.
- Assist in Assembly area and the Pit Cart area when needed.
- Maintain shipping tools. Ensure proper care and storage of tools.
- Request shipping supplies watch inventory of packing supplies, wood, foam and staples.
- Continually strive to enhance and improve processes, systems and communications.
- Successfully sets priorities, performs tasks in an orderly fashion, and meets time deadlines.
- Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills and communicates effectively among all team leaders, employees, management and vendors.
- Stays current with changing priorities, willing and able to take on new tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and Follow all safety rules and procedures
Work Environment
Experience in safely working with the following equipment as well as other various hand and power tools: table saw, radial arm saw, compound miter saw, pneumatic (air) nailer, pneumatic (air) crown stapler, pneumatic (air) wrench, steel banding tightener and steel banding crimping tools and step ladder.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 100 pounds.
Requirements:Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be eligible to obtain certification from company provided course.
- Trained in use of various hand tools, power tools, pneumatic (air) tools.
- Certification in forklift operation preferred.
- Knowledge of decimal and fraction conversions preferred.
- Must have the ability to read a ruler.
