Job Title: Inspector/SupervisorLocation: Milton, PA United States
Primary Purpose:The Inspector / Supervisor is responsible for the inspection and quality control of product produced on his/her shift. Ensuring ACROW products are produced in accordance with relevant company design standards and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:Performs initial inspection on parts after fitting and before welding. Performs final inspection after all welding is complete.Troubleshoots off-quality conditions and instructs and assists production employees in making operational changes.Uses all kinds of measuring tools and instruments to assure that the product is within the allowable tolerances.Inspects and approves all jigs and fixtures and first pieces produced and makes follow-up inspections of jig work.Advises his/her supervisors of any parts which are out of tolerance.Makes written inspection report on any parts which were rejected and documents repairs or replacement.Acts as shop supervisor when so directed. Will independently re-assign workers to perform new production tasks.Will recommend disciplinary actions for poor work product and waste.Serve as assistant inspector / apprentice while becoming thoroughly familiar with inspection procedures and documentation for a period not less than 6-months.Must attend and successfully complete AWS Visual Inspection Workshop or equivalent.Skills and Knowledge: Familiar with all types of fabrication equipment used in the shop. Minimum of five years experience in steel fabrication operations. Capable of reading detailed drawings and specifications. Ability to pass AWS visual acuity exam.Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work requires some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment.
