Local Class A Freight Pickup and Delivery driver

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years verifiable driving experience
  • No Accidents in Previous 3 years
  • No At Fault Accidents in Previous 5 Years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the previous 3 years
  • No DUI's in the previous 7 years
  • No Positive Drug Screens in Previous 7 years
  • Must be able to meet background screening requirements from the US Postal Service
  • Drivers in this position will be based in our Nashville, TN terminal and primarily within 250 miles of Nashville, TN... Drivers in this position will be home daily on almost all days. . Drivers may be called upon to cover overnight routes to support overall operations on rare occasions.

    Full Time - 40 Hours per week or more

    No touch freight (USPS Mail routes do require driver assist, drivers who bid on USPS routes will be required to assist by tailgating USPS mail carts)

    Drivers will be responsible for securing freight for transit

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

    Operate company-owned/leased trucks to facilitate the movement of US Mail operations and Freight operations.

    Operate company-owned/leased trucks for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of US Mail and Freight.

    Perform required before, during, and after-operation inspections on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to shop personnel; clean equipment and required reports

    Provide outstanding customer service during the delivery and pickup operations of US Mail and Freight.

    Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.

    Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you.

    Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

    Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

    As of January 1st, 2020 all applicants must be registered on the FMCSA D&A Clearinghouse, if you have not registered, you must sign up before we can finish your background screening.

    Position Responsibilities: Knowledge and Insight gained from 2+ years as a Class A CDL Driver General Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting capability. Ability to operate a smartphone or tablet for ELD and dispatch Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Class A drivers license a must! Requirements Valid CDL
    Valid Medical Card
    Pass pre-employment drug test
    Minimum Age 22 years of age or older Experience 2 or more years of experience as a tractor/trailer driver Driving Record No more than 2 moving violation convictions (other than prohibited) and no more than 1 preventable, DOT recordable losses in the past 12 months.

    No more than 4 moving violation convictions (other than prohibited); no more than 2 preventable, DOT recordable losses; and in combination no more than 2 moving violation convictions and 2 preventable, DOT recordable losses in the past 36 months.
