Clinical Instruction & Supervision

• Supervise students in clinical settings in accordance with Board of Nursing regulations.
• Provide direct instruction, demonstration, and evaluation of nursing skills.
• Facilitate clinical judgment development using evidence-based teaching strategies.
• Evaluate student performance using standardized evaluation tools aligned with course objectives.
• Provide timely written and verbal feedback to students.
• Identify at-risk students and implement remediation plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical attendance and evaluation documentation.
• Ensure student compliance with facility policies and professional standards.

Laboratory Instruction & Skills Facilitation

• Plan and conduct laboratory sessions for foundational and advanced nursing skills.
• Demonstrate and supervise skills including medication administration, sterile technique, injections (IM, SQ, ID), IV therapy (if applicable per scope), wound care, catheterization, and other LPN-level procedures.
• Facilitate simulation experiences aligned with course outcomes.
• Integrate NCLEX-style questioning and clinical judgment exercises during lab instruction.
• Evaluate student competency using standardized skills checklists.
• Provide remediation and tutoring in the skills lab as needed.

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Maintain current and unencumbered RN license.
• Ensure compliance with state Board of Nursing requirements.
• Adhere to institutional policies and clinical affiliate agreements.
• Maintain CPR certification and other required credentials.
• Model professional behavior consistent with nursing standards and ethical practice.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
• Minimum of 2–3 years recent clinical experience.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to travel to different clinical sites
• Proficiency with educational technology and electronic documentation systems.

Preferred

• Prior teaching experience in a Practical Nursing or Associate Degree Nursing program.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods during lab and clinical instruction.

Ability to lift and move lab equipment and supplies (up to 25 pounds).

Ability to demonstrate nursing skills safely.
