Job Description

  • This is a hybrid position that will require an onsite presence in Corvallis.
  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Manages the Clinical Research and Academic Affairs departments. Oversees clinical research and investigator-initiated research activities at Samaritan. Ensures regulatory compliance as well as ethical conduct of research. Collaborates closely with internal and external partners to support development and execution of research projects. Creates opportunities to align GME scholarly activity and research activities with institutional priorities. Manages department budgets and fosters revenue opportunities including grant proposal development. Advises senior leadership about research-related growth opportunities in alignment with SHS’s mission, values, and organizational goals.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership for Samaritan Health Services academic departments including post-graduate training programs, continuing medical education and library services; and works in collaboration with those supporting the educational needs of our medical staff. The office is responsible for academic strategic planning, faculty recruitment and development, course evaluation, academic budget planning and management, development and implementation of academic policies and assessment of educational resources.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • One (1) of the following required:
      • Master’s degree in a healthcare or research related field, plus three (3) years of experience in project management, research, or a related area.
      • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or research related field, plus five (5) years of experience in project management, research, or a related area.
    • Experience with clinical research preferred.
    • Experience analyzing electronic health records preferred.
