Driver in Utica, New York at RCIL

Starting Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour

Status: Per Diem/Hourly

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Operate agency vehicles to transport individuals in the community using door‑to‑door assistance.
• Provide safe boarding and disembarking support.
• Perform daily pre‑trip/post‑trip inspections, mileage logs, fueling, and ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicles (interior/exterior).
• Follow GPS routes and maintain communication with dispatch/staff and customers.
• Participate in ongoing, employer provided, driver training.
• Maintain privacy and customer confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
• Valid NY State Driver’s License with two (2) years clean driving record.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Work Experience Requirement:

• Professional driving experience in a passenger or Non Emergent Medical Transport (NEMT) setting preferred.
• One to two years of experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities in community or day-service settings preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Use of cell phone/tablet, read and write in English, ability to follow GPS instructions.
• Good communication and customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
