JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst in the construction industry is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices, subcontractors, and project-related expenses. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, contract compliance, lien waivers, and subcontractor documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process high-volume invoices for vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers with accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and project budgets
  • Ensure proper coding of expenses to jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts
  • Manage subcontractor payments, including tracking and collecting lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance documents
  • Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
  • Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper documentation for audits
  • Monitor aging reports and address outstanding liabilities
  • Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant construction regulations
TEAM VERITAS
  • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.
  • Support cross functional team initiatives.
  • Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas; Create and develop excellent relationships with key contacts
  • Participate in Veritas CARES community events when possible.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback, contribute to building positive team spirit; put success of team above own interests.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, subcontractor billing, and construction compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, W-9s, and 1099 reporting
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), and with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Construction industry experience is highly preferred due to the complexity of subcontractor management, compliance requirements, and job costing structures
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset
