Position Summary
Join a small but dedicated kitchen team at The Overlake School to help prepare and serve nutritious meals to students, staff, and faculty. This full-time 10-month role supports both dishwashing and food preparation duties in a collaborative, respectful, and fast-paced environment.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (weekends occasionally)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Start Date: August 12, 2026 (aligned with the 2026–27 academic year)
Important Note: Due to the academic calendar, this position includes extended unpaid breaks (approx. 8 weeks in summer and other school breaks). Financial planning is necessary to account for unpaid breaks.
Compensation: $20.00 – 21.50/hr.

Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist with food prep for breakfast and lunch service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- Support team members with daily kitchen operations
- Follow all kitchen protocols and safety procedures
- Occasionally assist with weekend events as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a positive kitchen culture
- Respectful and professional demeanor with colleagues and guests
- Prior kitchen experience is a plus, but not required
- Must adhere to a tobacco-free policy on campus
