About This Position
Job Title: Quality Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, conducting root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality systems in compliance with ISO 13485 and industry standards such as IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001.
- Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective/preventive action efforts (CAPA).
- Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain) to resolve quality issues and ensure product conformance.
- Develop inspection methods, process control plans, and quality documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAPs).
- Conduct internal and external audits to verify compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, defect rates, and returns.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address incoming material quality issues and drive supplier corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Quality, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, RC/CA, PFMEA).
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as IPC standards, and ISO 13485 or AS9100 (preferred).
- Proficiency in quality software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with IPC standards, RoHS compliance, ESD and other industry regulations.
- Familiarity with electronic components, PCB assembly (SMT & through-hole), assembly documentation, and inspection techniques.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure is advantageous
