Position Summary: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for implementing the marketing and communications strategy for Wellspring Living, with a focus on brief writing, content development, copywriting, and project coordination with the external communications agency. This role reports to the Development Manager and works closely with the Development Manager and Events & Individual Giving Manager to support communications efforts for fundraising events and donor engagement initiatives. The Communications Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring Wellspring Living’s brand guidelines are met across all internal and external communications.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Content Development & Project Management
Collaborate with Development Manager on creation and implementation of annual donor communications strategy
Lead the creation of working content briefs for all internal and external communications projects
Manage receipt and organization of stories, highlights, and photos from various program and/or admin staff for a variety of content
Coordinate with external printers and communications production agencies through phone, email and project management platforms (Podio), ensuring progress tracking for all ongoing projects and delivery of collateral on time and within budget.
Annual Events / Fundraising Campaigns
Collaborate with the Events & Individual Giving Manager and other development team members on communication efforts for Wellspring Living’s annual fundraising events, such as theme, collateral, scripts, videos, and other program content.
Create event and campaign collateral in Canva, completing intermediate-level copywriting and graphic design projects to meet campaign needs, including: donor acknowledgement letters, donor appeal letters, sponsor acknowledgement signs, flyers, video editing, etc
Ensure newsletters are sent through the digital communications platform and that donor communication details and preferences are up-to-date in the platform.
Brand Guidelines
Review and approve internal and external content, including marketing materials, emails, and collateral, to ensure adherence to Wellspring Living’s brand standards.
Provide access to approved branding assets, such as logos and templates, to partners and internal teams as needed.
Train internal staff on brand requirements and proper usage of branding assets when necessary.
Meeting Coordination
Set up and manage internal communications meetings, including program brief kick-offs, and quarterly communications meetings, ensuring all participants are informed and prepared.
Develop and distribute meeting agendas in advance, record meeting notes, highlighting key takeaways, action items, and deadlines.
Schedule and facilitate monthly social media content days with internal staff and external communications agency.
Follow up on next steps to keep communications projects moving forward.
Manage info@wellspringliving.org and communications@wellspringliving email account by fielding and/or responding to inquiries
Assist with various external communication requests from partners such as writing press releases and providing access to brand media kit
Attend Development team events and donor engagement activities to support team objectives and enhance donor relationships.
Professional Qualifications:
Possess a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, or a related field with at least 2 years of communications and project management experience.
Excellent communication and writing skills
Documentation of at least two professional, educational, or personal references that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations
Proven experience with Microsoft Office, Canva (or other design tools), Constant Contact (or other email marketing tools) and various social media tools
Position Requirements:
Travel to program sites across metro- Atlanta, with some weekends and evenings
Must have the ability to work for long periods at a computer
Satisfactory criminal history background check
