Location: This is an in-office position in our downtown Santa Barbara, CA, office.
About the role:
As an Interior Designer at Clear, you’ll take the lead in shaping thoughtful, functional, and sophisticated interior environments across our high-end residential and mixed-use projects. From the earliest design concepts through final installation, you’ll work closely with architects, clients, and builders to bring each space to life with precision and intention. This is a hands-on role where your design vision, technical expertise, and eye for detail will directly impact the success of every project. You'll be responsible for producing construction documents, curating finishes and furnishings, sourcing from trusted vendors, and ensuring projects align with both aesthetic and budget goals. You’ll also serve as a mentor to junior team members and play a key role in refining our design standards and processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and is passionate about elevating every detail.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the architecture team to craft a distinct style for the interior design of ground up and renovation projects.
- Become an integral part in the design process to provide detailed Construction Documents.
- Expertise in custom furniture.
- Work with Visualization team to produce high quality renderings, indicative of the styles and details you create.
- Curate relationships with local and national vendors.
- Routinely audit and manage the office materials & finish library.
- Develops mood, color and finish boards.
- Attend client meetings: present plans and specifications for review and approval.
- Visit showrooms as necessary with the client to ensure expectations are met.
- Work with the Estimating team to maintain construction cost & budgets.
- Review shop drawings and assist with RFI’s during the Construction Administration phase.
- Mentor staff and communicate expectations effectively. Hold the staff to a high standard and motivate to achieve exceptional results.
- Research and understand industry trends. Incorporate as necessary into workflow.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for someone with a passion for organization and a knack for multitasking. Here’s what you should bring to the table:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with a strong focus on high-end residential projects. Commercial and mixed use experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Revit, rendering engines, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office 365, and Bluebeam. Use of other design aids a plus.
- Detail-oriented mindset and the ability to envision bold ideas for our clients
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, integrating between Architecture, Construction, Estimating and Marketing.

- Positive attitude and ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
