About This Position

Job Title: Product Graphic Designer

Department: R&D

Location: Thousand Oaks, California

Reports to: Product Design Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

General Overview: The Graphic Designer plays a critical role in the product development process, from early concept ideation through production-ready execution. This position will create designs that don’t just perform on the field but stand out visually and influence the direction of the category with an emphasis on originality, craft, and visual impact. The Graphic Designer will define what the brands look like to the customer, to the retailer and to anyone else who is exposed to the brands and works closely with the Rawlings and Easton design & product teams.


A strong candidate for this position will have strong illustration and typography skills to help define the visual identity of our baseball bats and related products. This role is ideal for a designer who draws inspiration from sports, culture, art, and fashion-and knows how to translate that influence into bold, modern product graphics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Create original, illustration-driven graphic concepts for baseball bats and related productsProduce digitally illustrated artwork, patterns, typography and visual elementsTranslate artistic concepts into clean, production ready designsDevelop detailed tech packs, including artwork specifications, color and finishesEnsure feasibility of concepts, meeting product cost targets and project timelinesCollaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing teams Research and apply graphic and color trends from art, culture, fashion, and sports to inform fresh, relevant designsManage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced creative environmentIterate on designs based on feedback while maintaining strong artistic point of viewPresent new concepts and ideas to teammates in Development, Design, and MarketingEncourage innovation on current projects as well as introduce ideas for future productsParticipate in validation studies and drive consumer connectionDevelop and nurture a portfolio of advance concept designs Create and render photorealistic images for presentations, catalog and websiteProblem solves design & manufacturing issuesWork in tandem with the product team to help clarify objectives with vendorsBasic understanding of Branding and PrintAll other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Approximately 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong emphasis on illustration and artwork creationA portfolio that clearly demonstrates original illustration, drawing ability, and artistic range, ideally applied to productsBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, Industrial Design, or related field preferredStrong understanding of color, typography, and compositionProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially IllustratorKeyshot experience preferredAbility to create clear and well composed tech-packsMust be detail orientated with the ability to meet deadlinesProven ability to effectively manage time and work on multiple projectsStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust live within a commutable distance to the office and be available for on-site collaboration as needed

Bonus Points:

Experience illustrating for physical products, sporting goods, or lifestyle brandsStrong sketching or hand drawing skills Personal interest in baseball, action sports, or streetwear culture
