Working under the direction of a Pharmacist, you’ll gain exposure to the many moving parts of modern pharmacy practice — from patient care and prescription processing to lab work and pharmacy operations. This internship is designed to give you a well-rounded view of pharmacy practice:

Patient Care & Customer Experience

• Assist patients via phone, email, and in person
  
• Observe pharmacist–patient consultations
  
• Help resolve customer questions and concerns
  

Pharmacy Operations

• Fill prescriptions and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision
  
• Stock shelves, label medications, and organize inventory
  
• Maintain medication and supply inventory
  
• Support cashiering and point-of-sale functions
  

Clinical & Professional Development

• Stay informed on new, discontinued, or updated medications
  
• Communicate with physicians for prescription clarifications
  
• Learn insurance processing and pharmacy workflow systems
  

Administrative Support

• File patient records
  
• Process insurance claims
  
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program
• Active Pharmacy Intern License from the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
