Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks experience to support daily bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end activities. This role will assist with transitioning companies to cloud‑based QuickBooks, aligning the general ledger with AFD requirements, supporting consolidation into Business Central, and providing QuickBooks training to internal staff as needed.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; Hybrid position can be discussed.

What you will do day-to-day:

Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations

  • Perform daily bookkeeping activities in QuickBooks, including data entry, coding, and record maintenance.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations regularly.
  • Prepare and post month‑end and year‑end journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Systems & Process Improvements

  • Transition multiple entities to cloud‑based QuickBooks, including setup, migration, and validation.
  • Set up and modify the General Ledger (GL) to align with AFD books and reporting requirements.
  • Support financial consolidation into Business Central and related reporting (including banking reports).
  • Assist with improving bookkeeping processes, documentation, and consistency across entities.

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Gather, organize, and maintain financial documentation consistent with AFD audit and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper filing and retention of financial records.

Training & Support

  • Train internal staff on QuickBooks usage as required.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance related to bookkeeping processes and systems.

What you need to succeed:

Education

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience, is an asset.
  • QuickBooks certification is required.

Experience

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting multiple entities.

Other Skills (Knowledge)

  • Exposure to cloud‑based accounting system transitions is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail required.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
