About the Position:

Job Summary:

The Operations Coordinator focuses on student essentials & purchasing requests for the Amistad residential campus and is responsible for ensuring that all students in the community have consistent access to essential daily living items, including clothing, hygiene products, and other basic needs. The role also supports the overall needs of the environment by managing purchasing requests, maintaining inventory, and coordinating distribution in alignment with community standards. The Coordinator works closely with Amity’s business manager, who processes purchasing requests, campus leadership, and faculty to ensure resources are available, accessible, and responsive to student and environmental needs.

What You Will Do:
  • Oversee the purchasing request of essential items for students, including clothing, hygiene products, and other basic living supplies, such as non-toxic cleaning supplies
  • Maintain accurate inventory systems to track supplies across campus.
  • Ensure timely ordering, receiving, and distribution of all essential items.
  • Collaborate with Directors and campus teams to assess and anticipate student needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business managers for cost-effective purchasing.
  • Monitor budgets related to student essentials and purchasing activities.
  • Ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and aligned with community standards.
  • Support the development of systems that promote equitable and dignified distribution of resources.
  • Maintain documentation of purchases, inventory logs, and vendor communications.
  • Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and reporting as needed.
  • Provide support to campus operations as requested, including coordination with other departments for the purchasing process.
  • Supports holiday and special event purchasing requests and overall setup and breakdowns, along with the coordination of faculty and students’ participation
What You Will Bring:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Operations, or related field or
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience working with our population in residential, community-based, or human services settings preferred.

Certifications or Licenses:

  • Valid California driver’s license (if travel between campuses is required).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and cohesiveness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
