About This Position

Position Summary:

This is an onsite position located in Alexandria, VA

National Capitol Contracting is seeking an Audiovisual Engineer to support the Department of Housing and Urban Development at 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA, an Executive Department that administers programs aimed at providing housing and community development assistance.

The successful candidate will provide expert knowledge of Logitech AV equipment and operational support for Crestron.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Deploy, Configure, and Sustain VTC Software, Applications, and Hardware in 60-100 small conference rooms.
Demonstrate strong communication skills to lead and direct other junior team members both locally and in remote locations.Generate and maintain system wide technical documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

    Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual, Engineering/IT, or computer science. OR 5+ years of relevant experience.Preferred certifications:Logitech Rally Bar / SolutionsCrestron Control Certifications
Experience managing the AV infrastructure for a state-of-the-art public-facing events, conventions, or entertainment facilities or museums.Experience troubleshooting audiovisual equipment (Direct view LED walls, control devices, switchers, scalers, wireless mics, lighting controllers, touch recognition systems).Experience troubleshooting audiovisual systems.Experience fabricating and installing audiovisual systems.Experience troubleshooting control systems.Proven track record in managing on-site technicians with exceptional troubleshooting abilities for complex technical issues.Ability to read and write critically.Excellent written and oral communication.Excellent customer service skills working in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Infocomm Certification: Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Certified Technology Specialist Design (CTS-D), Certified Technology Specialist Installation (CTS-I).Digital signal processing in live environment.Live & Studio audio experience: set up, mixing and recoding; microphone placement, signal path, audio processing & acoustic ambience analysis.Mixing a live event for simultaneous voice lift and recording.Experience troubleshooting & managing IP networks.Ability to read and generate technical documentation, drawings/blueprints; CAD experience.Experience with multiple computer operating systems.IT Support (Network and Systems Engineering).Experience troubleshooting very complex hybrid meetings (Zoom, MS Teams, Webex)Experience with streaming media.Experience supporting Windows, asset management, and remote control of AV devices.Experience working with government contracting.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 0700 - 1430

Environment/Physical Demands: Many of our site campuses are large and require travel by foot, ability to lift 30 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
