Plant Maintenance Technician in San Marcos, California at Hollandia Dairy

Scheduled Days & Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:00PM-9:30PM/FINISH, Occasional weekends as needed

Wages: $25-30 per hour

Location: San Marcos - At this time, we are only considering local candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Ideal Candidate Criteria: Possess basic welding, electrical, and plumbing skills-experience with pump motor repair-valves; heat exchange systems-packaging equipment such as filler, case packers, and conveyors; boiler maintenance and refrigeration knowledge. The Plant Maintenance Tech will provide maintenance services and repair functions to facility and equipment to ensure production schedules are met in a timely manner with an emphasis on safety.

Job Duties:

• Observe equipment in operation to prevent/diagnose potential problems.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove, repair and replace defective parts.
• Identify, suggest, propose, and discuss solutions to equipment and facility issues with management.
• Develop and maintain maintenance logs on all equipment.
• Requisition and order stock parts services for proper and prompt repairs.
• Work with contractors for repair, maintenance and installation jobs.
• Maintain and service electrical, mechanical, heating and cooling systems.
• Maintain and service plumbing, gas, air.
• Produce preventative maintenance schedules, tool inventories, repair logs, etc.
• Interpret electrical drawings.
• Troubleshoot PLC’s, Controls, Motors, Medium Voltage Equipment.
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic system repairs to facility and process equipment.
• Work with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision to support production priorities.
• Must have basic hand tools.
• Prompt and regular attendance
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Needed: Must have mechanical aptitude (auto or related is fine) and will be motivated, have a good attitude and be able to learn. Experience in production environment in the areas of fluid transfer, food production, or bottling preferred. Must have a valid CA Class “C” driver's license with a good driving record. Bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop. The employee must regularly push, pull; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to warm and humid conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration; occasionally fumes or chemicals and electricity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
