Position Overview:
Under the supervision of an RN, the operating room technician (ORT) participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team. Performs direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients undergoing surgical, surgically related, or endoscopic procedures. To provide care to all assigned patients in the Operating Room/PACU/Outpatient Surgery during their shift. Is responsible for meeting the established Surgical Standards of Nursing Practice. Included in this assignment is the responsibility to assist in the timely coordination of adequate levels of supplies and equipment to perform safe preoperative care. Ensures effective communication between him or herself, the patient, other staff, supervision, physicians, and other hospital departments. Processes information on the Center's Health Information system as required in performing job responsibilities. Assist in central sterile as needed.
Position Highlights:
- Starting Rate: $24.00 + per hour (commensurate with experience)
- Sign On Bonus Eligible: $10,000 (if full-time)

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist and anticipate the surgeon/s needs during cases
• Notify OR coordinator and follow processes for broken or malfunctioning equipment.
• Maintain sterile environment.
• Assist in maintain patient safety.
• Set up and turn over OR suites to meet benchmarks
• When taking call, you must be able to get to the OR and have room set up within 30mins to meet standards.
• Be knowledgeable and demonstrate the ability to process instruments.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED, BCLS certification. Possesses valid driver’s license. Computer experiences desirable. Hold a valid certification as a certified surgical technologist.
Prior experience as ORT preferred, military experience acceptable
