Remote VP of Engineering

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Vice President of Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will drive technical excellence and scalable product delivery while embedding AI capabilities across the engineering platform. Your leadership will have a significant impact on global engineering teams, promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration. By aligning technology strategy with business objectives, you will ensure that the engineering processes are efficient and effective. Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement the technology strategy that aligns with the companys business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, from product development, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, quality and operational excellence.
  • Lead, recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teams (including software engineers, QA, AI/ML teams).
  • Ensure rigorous adoption of software engineering best practices (CI/CD, agile methodologies, observability, security, resilience).
  • Own the transition from AI-assisted to AI-native development practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, technical operations, customer success and sales to define product roadmaps.
  • Manage engineering budgets, resource forecasting, and vendor/partner relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's or higher preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, including managing large, complex, SaaS or cloud-native engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex software products.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, DevOps, cloud architecture, microservices, distributed systems.
  • Proven experience with SaaS platforms, managing scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • AI/ML experience: ability to build and scale machine learning or generative AI systems.
