About This Position

Job Overview:

The chief echo tech will assist the manager to oversee the day to day operations the Non Invasive Cardiac Lab and Ambulatory Care Center, including supervising other sonographers ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, providing training, and collaborating with physicians to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Certification of Cardiac Ultrasound Program
  • ARDMS or CCI Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily echo tech assignments
  • Continue to review Echo, WW, CL, and OR schedule in advance to ensure proper staffing and equipment requirements.
  • Run huddles as needed.
  • Assist with dept. scheduling and physician panel.
  • Maintain lab data and operation efficiency.
  • Modify staffing as needed to meet productivity metrics for the Non Invasive Cardiac Lab.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff and students.
  • Assist with working out Epic work que issues, denials, and MUE edits that need clarification.
  • Ensure continual meetings and communication with manager, medical director and leadership.
  • Maintain crash cart logs, refrigerator, blanket warmer, and TEE probe cabinets.
  • IAC Quarterly QAs
  • Routinely audit echocardiography quality and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Assist with echo tech training such as: contrast, bubble study, pre and post TAVR TTE, TEE, and structural procedures.
  • Interact constructively, tactfully, and professionally with others and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Remain positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete and ensure staffing supplies and equipment are stocked and readily available.
  • Back order supplies need to be documented and escalated with action plans.
  • Assist with IAC submission for Hospital and ACC.
  • Ensure echo tech registries such as ARDMS/RCS and BLS are up to date.
  • Observe equipment for proper functioning and ensure proper documentation is recorded.
  • Ensure staff adheres to the standards of workplace behavior policy.
  • Provide psychological safety to ensure a high performing team
