Job Description

Technical Team Lead/Chef(fe) dquipe technique (Claims Adjuster)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Team Lead / Chef(fe) d’équipe technique (Claims Adjuster) based in Canada.

In this role, you will act as a senior technical authority within a claims environment, supporting adjusters in handling complex and high-value files while ensuring consistency and quality across case management practices. You will serve as a trusted reference point for technical guidance, particularly on coverage interpretation, settlement strategy, and file resolution approaches. The position focuses on elevating overall team performance through coaching, mentorship, and hands-on technical support rather than traditional people management. You will also contribute to improving claims handling standards by identifying gaps, refining processes, and supporting best practices. Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will liaise closely with leadership to align technical execution with client expectations. This role is ideal for an experienced adjuster ready to transition into a leadership-oriented, quality-driven position. It offers the opportunity to have a direct and measurable impact on both team capability and claims outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Act as a senior technical reference for adjusters, providing guidance on complex claims files, coverage analysis, and settlement strategy decisions.
  • Support the review and handling of active claims by offering direction, analytical input, and technical expertise to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Conduct targeted quality assurance reviews, including assessment of reports, reserves, and compliance with client and insurer standards.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to help develop the skills and autonomy of claims adjusters.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of claims practices, workflows, and technical standards across the team.
  • Collaborate with directors and leadership teams to support operational performance and service excellence.
  • Help ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in claims handling across a range of file complexities.
Requirements:
  • 8–10 years of experience in claims adjusting, with strong exposure to complex or specialty risk files considered an asset.
  • Deep technical knowledge of claims processes, coverage interpretation, and settlement practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and support the development of other professionals in a technical capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a consistent focus on quality outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of insurer expectations, client requirements, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive technical guidance.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written) is required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and technical expertise
  • Fully remote flexibility, with the ability to work from anywhere in the province of Quebec
  • Opportunity to transition into a technical leadership role without traditional management responsibilities
  • Strong focus on professional development, coaching, and continuous learning
  • Exposure to complex, high-impact claims work with meaningful technical ownership
  • Collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment
  • Opportunities for career growth based on contribution and expertise
  • Inclusive workplace with accommodations available throughout the recruitment process.
