Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a key partner to leaders across the organization, helping to build a high performing, engaged, and accountable workforce. This role drives people initiatives that support business growth, strengthen leadership effectiveness, enhance employee performance, and foster a positive workplace culture.
The HRBP works closely with leaders to address workforce challenges, develop talent, improve retention, and promote organizational effectiveness. This position balances strategic thinking with practical execution and plays a critical role in helping the company scale while maintaining a strong employee experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership Partnership & Organizational Growth
- Partner with leaders to align people strategies with business objectives and operational goals.
- Coach and influence leaders on employee performance, accountability, communication, and team development.
- Drive workforce initiatives that support organizational growth and long-term success.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and leadership impact.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Lead employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
- Guide leaders through performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution processes.
- Promote consistent and fair application of company policies and employment practices.
- Identify trends and proactively recommend solutions that improve employee performance and retention.
Talent Development & Workforce Planning
- Partner with leaders to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Support recruiting efforts for key positions and workforce planning initiatives.
- Advance leadership development and management training programs.
- Help create career development opportunities that encourage employee growth and internal advancement.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance regarding workplace policies, employee relations matters, leaves of absence, and employment practices.
- Support policy development and manager education.
- Identify and help mitigate employment-related risks.
Culture & Employee Engagement
- Champion initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, communication, recognition, and retention.
- Help shape and reinforce a culture that reflects the company's values and commitment to excellence.
- Partner with leaders to create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting operational, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, or similar workforce environments.
- Strong employee relations, performance management, and leadership coaching experience.
- Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive positive organizational outcomes.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting a growing organization.
- Experience facilitating leadership development and management training.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000
- Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with leaders, strengthen employee relations, and support organizational growth.
