Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday with open flexibility

Wage: $21.01 - $24.41 per hour, depending on qualifications
Reports to: Program Supervisor / Program Manager

Position Summary

The Employment Consultant partners with people supported at Rise and businesses in the community to achieve meaningful employment. This role focuses on job development, placement, and ongoing support to help people succeed and grow in their work. This position may be filled at the Employment Consultant Level 1 or Employment Consultant Level 2, depending on qualifications, experience, and program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with individuals served to identify employment goals and develop personalized job plans
  • Provide job search support including resume development, interview preparation, and job coaching
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to create competitive, integrated job opportunities
  • Provide on-the-job support and follow-up services to promote long-term job retention
  • Advocate for workplace accommodations and support inclusive employment practices
  • Collaborate with case managers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, social workers, and support teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, service notes, and billing records
  • Travel throughout the assigned service area to meet with participants and employers

Additional Responsibilities for Level 2

  • All Level I qualifications, plus:
  • One year or more of experience in supported employment, job placement, case management, or related services
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with people facing barriers to employment (disabilities, mental health, criminal backgrounds, housing instability, etc.)
  • Ability to manage a higher caseload and more complex employment supports

Travel Expectations

  • This role requires frequent local travel within the assigned service area
  • Daily travel may include visits to participant worksites, employer locations, community partners, and Rise offices
  • Mileage reimbursement provided per Rise policy
  • Occasional meetings or trainings may occur at different Rise locations
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of supported employment field and one year of experience providing job placement and job development services preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human service field or criminal justice preferred or equivalent work history of 2 years.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with adults with criminal backgrounds, mental health diagnosis, chemical dependency, or homelessness.
  • Background in human services, social work or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to use electronic devices for organization (ie: electronic calendar, email, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Applicants must comply with and pass Department of Human Services background check (Rule 11).
  • Applicants must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.
  • As part of the hiring process, potential candidates may be required to complete the Adaptative Digital Computer Skills Assessment and pass with at least a score of productive and above.
