The ICT Associate Director will provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for ICT engineering activities. This role requires a balance of advanced design expertise, team leadership, and organizational development to support complex projects and long-term business objectives.
- Lead and oversee advanced ICT engineering design activities, including conceptual design, technical calculations, documentation, and quality assurance reviews.
- Serve as a technical authority on complex projects, acting as an Engineer of Record when required and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Mentor and develop ICT engineering team members through coaching, training, knowledge sharing, and the creation of a strong learning culture.
- Establish and maintain ICT design standards, workflows, and best practices to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality.
- Support strategic planning, resource forecasting, staffing initiatives, and department growth efforts.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and talent development activities.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to shape operational policies, improve processes, and align department goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Manage strategic initiatives that enhance technical capabilities, service delivery, and operational excellence.
- Communicate department objectives, priorities, and expectations while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and performance expectations to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, providing technical guidance and serving as a trusted advisor when needed.
The ideal candidate is an experienced ICT engineering leader with strong technical knowledge, proven management capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a remote environment.
- Minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience in ICT engineering, design, or related technical fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, with advanced degrees considered as equivalent experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role with demonstrated success leading teams.
- Advanced knowledge of ICT systems, calculations, topologies, codes, standards, and technical documentation.
- Strong experience with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to develop and review technical drawings, specifications, reports, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence teams and senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, delegate effectively, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed operational decisions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong organization, initiative, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States as needed.
- Competitive compensation range of approximately $160,000 - $230,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
