Accountant, General Ledger Accounting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accountant, General Ledger Accounting based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support a growing finance organization by ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations.
You will play a key part in maintaining general ledger integrity, managing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting processes.
The position combines technical accounting expertise, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
You will contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting efficiencies while supporting business growth.
Working with multiple teams and business units, you will help drive accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

Accountabilities:

The Accountant, General Ledger Accounting will support core accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, ownership of deadlines, and the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and business teams.

  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, allocations, and other assigned accounting processes.
  • Record and maintain prepaid expenses, establish amortization schedules, and perform related account reconciliations.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned business units.
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions to resolve accounting issues.
  • Apply GAAP accounting principles related to revenue recognition, accruals, amortization, cash recognition, and intercompany transactions.
  • Assist with external audit preparation by providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired business units and assist with accounting transition activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accounting processes, and leverage automation tools.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accurate reports, timely responses, and high-quality financial support.
  • Load and manage accounting data through financial systems while supporting expense allocation processes.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure accounting activities meet organizational policies and reporting requirements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes, with the ability to operate independently in a growing and evolving organization. You should demonstrate analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience supporting corporate month-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial analysis functions.
  • Experience using accounting systems such as NetSuite.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with finance teams, business units, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and willingness to support new challenges, projects, and changing business needs.
  • Experience with audit preparation and year-end audit processes is preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-growth or mergers and acquisitions environment is preferred.
  • CPA candidate status is a plus.
