Job Description
CapVest is a tight-knit team that is building impactful communities throughout NW Wisconsin. We build things we're proud of and we stand behind them long after the ribbon is cut. Our leadership knows your name, knows your work, and is on site often enough to see both. When you flag a problem, someone acts on it. When you crush something, someone says so.
If that sounds like the career you’ve been looking for, let's talk.
The Role
As a Construction Field Engineer, you are our eyes, standards, and judgment on the ground. You walk the work, catch what others miss, and make the call before a small issue becomes an expensive one. It’s hands-on, it’s high-trust, and it’s the strongest launch pad we have toward a future Project Superintendent seat.
What You'll Do
- Conduct daily inspections using CapVest's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), making educated corrections where needed
- Post daily logs in Buildertrend to document progress and quality
- Oversee and complete punch lists for projects nearing close-out
- Complete tenant work orders while projects are still under construction department warranty
- Help uphold site safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized job site — the kind you'd be glad to walk a client through unannounced
Construction Management Software Accountabilities
- Review project schedules
- Manage and complete tasks
- Post daily logs
- Conduct daily safety inspections

- Ability to complete hands-on tasks or minor repairs when needed (drywall, paint, trim, etc.)
- Proficiency operating current computer programs
- A bachelor's or associate degree in construction management or equivalent is a plus
Experience & Skills
- Goal-oriented, flexible, and able to function as an integral part of a team
- Strong organizational and excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and co-workers
- Strong verbal and written communication (bilingual is a plus), comprehension, reasoning, and decision-making skills
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to move and transport objects up to 50 pounds and position self to complete required tasks
Who Thrives Here
We are direct about our expectations, because the people who fit here want to know what they're being measured against:
- Professionalism you don't have to be reminded about — quality of work, punctuality, attendance, and attitude
- Dependability, good judgment, and organization as second nature
- Initiative and genuine curiosity about the craft; you take the educational opportunities we put in front of you
- Positive working relationships with your peers, and the qualities that make people want to work with you
- Comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced setting — able to excel on your own and inside a tight-knit crew
- A desire to grow into a Project Superintendent role

Growing Here
