This role evaluates the financial, operational, and compliance risk of prospective projects, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, and plays a central part in preparing prequalification packages for general contractors, owners, and municipalities. This role evaluates the financial, operational, and compliance risk of prospective projects, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, and plays a central part in preparing prequalification packages for general contractors, owners, and municipalities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, familiarity with construction contracts and compliance platforms, and the judgment to translate financial and risk data into clear recommendations for executive leadership.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments for prospective projects, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Manage and maintain Hays Electrical's subcontractor prequalification program.
- Review subcontractor financial health, safety performance, insurance coverage, bonding capacity, licensing, and litigation history.
- Analyze contract requirements and identify potential operational, commercial, financial, and compliance risks.
- Lead preparation and submission of general contractor, owner, and municipal prequalification packages.
- Maintain and manage contractor compliance platforms, including ISNetworld, Avetta, BuildingConnected, and similar systems.
- Develop risk reports and recommendations for executive leadership.
- Track insurance, bonding, licensing, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports, risk assessments, and performance dashboards for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Analyze company financial data, project performance metrics, backlog trends, and operational KPIs to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support informed business decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in risk analysis, financial analysis, compliance, construction operations, procurement, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in construction-related industries, including electrical contracting, commercial, industrial, utility, infrastructure, and mission critical projects, with a strong understanding of business and project risk management.
- Knowledge of subcontractor and contractor prequalification processes.
- Familiarity with insurance requirements, surety bonding, and construction contracts.
- Experience working with contractor compliance platforms and qualification databases.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, profitability metrics, and business performance indicators.
