We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Manufacturing Manager to join our team!

The Role: The Injection Molding Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the production activities of manufactured products through a safe, rewarding, efficient, and motivated production environment to ensure a quality product meets or exceeds our customers’ requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the production department personnel including department supervisors, leads, and maintenance/janitorial staff.
- Allocates necessary labor, materials and capital required to fulfill customer orders.
- Continually monitors the performance of the production department employees.
- Ensures that work is prioritized and appropriately assigned.
- Establishes clear performance expectations and goals, and provides timely feedback on a regular basis to employees on job performance.
- Deals promptly with sub-par performance issues by putting corrective actions in place to monitor continued improvement.
- Ensures that all production employees are trained on specific job duties, equipment and procedures including any mandated OSHA and company policy training programs.
- Certifies that the production supervisors have training plans in place for each employee and that required training is being conducted.
- May conduct actual training or coordination of additional trainers when appropriate.
- Assesses the effectiveness of training programs presented by reviewing results obtained.
- Actively promotes cross-training within each work cell and amongst departments.
- Completes performance reviews timely. Makes salary change recommendations.
- Makes all hiring, promotion and termination decisions for the department with involvement of Human Resource Dept.
- Planning responsibilities:
- Submits a budget for production department based on projected customer needs, efficiency gains, and manages departmental spending to budgeted amounts.
- Determines the level of resources needed to meet production demand.
- Plans for capacity by consistently reviewing both current and future sales forecasts along with job capacity schedules.
- Communicates with production supervisors and leads on the details of the schedule, including changes when appropriate.
- Solves problems that may arise on production floor that would prohibit meeting customer order commitments.
- Determines the feasibility of product schedule and communicates with Supply Chain on quotation of lead times if resources are constrained.
- Regularly checks on the stocking levels of XX1 Finished Goods and other critical component stocking levels to ensure we have enough inventory to support a high customer service level. This function is primary to the Supply chain department and an executed job schedule should support this.
- Continuous Improvement responsibilities:
- Continuously monitors the performance of all production machinery, processes and team members to develop a keen eye for driving improvements.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for include but not limited to:
- Ontime Shipment Performance, Order leadtime, Labor Absorption, Job Schedule Attainment, Finished Goods Availability, OEE, Manufacturing Variances, Customer complaints, assigned Corrective Actions and Sales performance by month.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for include but not limited to:
- Utilize LEAN/KAIZEN tools to identify wastes and use team collaboration to address them.
- Puts in place necessary corrective actions to the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing variance goals.
- Collaborates with Engineering and Quality Department to improve processes.
- Ensures that proper preventive and “break-fix” service is conducted on each machine as required.
- Purchases new, used or upgraded equipment when needed via requisition/approval process.
- Embraces Ericson’s ISO Quality system manual system and procedures.
- Continuously monitors the performance of all production machinery, processes and team members to develop a keen eye for driving improvements.
- Safety responsibilities:
- As a member of the Safety Committee, proactively addresses safety as a concern for the employees, facility, product and customer.
- Reviews the performance of the maintenance facilities personnel to ensure that the work environment is safe from hazards and is kept clean and organized as appropriate.
- Responsible member for facilities management functions including enhancement, expansion, maintenance, security and cleanliness with the assistance of the maintenance dept.
- Determines which ergonomics and safety programs are necessary for the facility and implements these programs through employee safety committees.
- Reviews safety programs with HR annually for effectiveness and provides input to the creation or implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:
- Minimum of 8 years total work experience
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a production management or supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple production supervisors
- Preferably experience working in an injection molding and assembly manufacturing environment.
- Bachelors degree in business or engineering strongly preferred
