JOB SUMMARY
The House Person is responsible for setting up banquet rooms and general upkeep of the facility. This position must be able to interpret the information on Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) and fully execute details to the Club’s standards.

1. Member/Team Relations

2. Communication

· Maintain open channels of communication and be receptive to all departments and staff members.

· Write effectively and concisely.

· Convey oral messages clearly and concisely.

· Actively participate in all meetings.

· Ensure that the information needed to proficiently operate the club is disseminated and understood.

· Must maintain a positive attitude and be willing to support all programs and initiatives that have been communicated from the management team of the Club.

3. Planning, Organization and Administration

· Exhibit sound time management and organizational skills.

· Ensure the supplies needed to operate are properly stocked.

· Maintain an organized and clean work station that is member ready.

4. Employment Policies/Safe Work Environment

· Report all accidents to your supervisor immediately.

· Take pride in the club - report all damage or vandalism to club property.

· Report all safety hazards to your supervisor.

· Follow all club policies and procedures as outlined in the handbook.

· Follow all departmental rules communicated by your supervisor.

5. Essential Job Functions

· Work with the Housekeeping Supervisor on priorities and course of action for room set-ups.

· Double check individual BEO’s for details.

· Move furniture, lamps, banquet tables, rugs, etc., in a very careful and methodical manner so there will be no damage to anything.

· Drape and/or skirt proper pieces as well as making sure there are rugs for any portable bars.

· Vacuuming carpets, walls, chairs and cushions.

· Dusting chairs, tables, walls, lockers, window blinds and windows.

· Dirty Linen; pick up from special points and return it to the Linen room.

· Report all physical damage or malfunctions of equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor so it may be corrected as quickly as possible.

· Any other duties necessary as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of two years hotel or private club cleaning with experience in setting banquet rooms.

· Positive attitude

· Highly motivated

· Effective written and oral communication abilities

· Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.

· Ability to stand on feet for extended period of time

Scope of Responsibility

Knows the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures including some familiarity of other departments within the club. Is sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the various departments of the club.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is required to sit and reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to multi-task and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
