About this position

This position is responsible for leading complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation. This role partners with leadership to foster a positive, equitable, and compliant work environment while supporting organizational effectiveness and culture.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and conduct complex, high-risk workplace investigations, ensuring timely, thorough, and impartial outcomes;
  • Supervise and train the HR administrative team responsible for ensuring optimal success in various aspects of employee relations;
  • Provide strategic guidance to managers and leadership on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution;
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of company policies, practices, and employment laws;
  • Identify trends in employee relations data and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risk and improve employee experience;
  • Develop and deliver employee relations programs, tools, and training for managers and employees;
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and HR teams on sensitive matters and organizational initiatives;
  • Coach and develop leaders on handling employee concerns and fostering inclusive, respectful workplace practices;
  • Prepare clear, accurate documentation, investigation summaries, and reports;
  • Support organizational change initiatives, including restructures and workforce
  • transitions;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all matters;
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with HR leadership, finance, payroll, and other stakeholders to align processes, share workflows, and support organizational goals;
  • Champion a culture of excellence, equity, and employee development by modeling values-driven leadership and inclusive practices;
  • Actively participate in the annual in-service training;
  • Abide by all of Options for Learning’s policies;
  • Attending training as required;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field (Relevant HR experience may be substituted for education);
  • Seven to ten years of HR experience;
  • Five years of experience with employee relations;
  • Two years of supervisory experience;
  • Knowledge of employment laws;
  • Expertise in investigations and conflict resolution;
  • Strong skills in coaching, analysis, and emotional intelligence;
  • Ability to cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with team members and other department staff;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to successfully balance multiple responsibilities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and communication platforms;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Master’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field; (preferred)
  • Experience working for non-profit and/or early learning organizations. (preferred)

Job specifications

  • Reports to the director of human resources administration;
  • Full-time, year-round position;
  • Eight-hour workday, four-day workweek;
  • Hybrid work schedule with approval by management;
  • Organization-wide winter break;
  • Limited evening or weekend work may be required;
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at the organization’s discretion.

Salary

  • $103,000 - $138,000 annually (candidates should anticipate receiving an offer within the first quartile of the salary range).?
