Job Description
The Talent & Culture Intern will support the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of the Talent & Culture team at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. This internship offers hands-on experience in multiple areas of human resources, including recruitment, employee engagement, benefits administration, compliance, and HR analytics. The intern will contribute to projects that improve organizational effectiveness while gaining exposure to nonprofit HR practices.

Responsibilities:
Human Resources Operations & Administration
- Organize and maintain physical and digital employee records, including file management projects
- Support organization of Talent & Culture storage and shared resources
- Assist with compliance tracking and workforce profile log updates
- Send and track follow-up communications (e.g., exit interview outreach to former employees)
Recruitment & Talent Processes
- Assist with screening resumes against established minimum qualifications
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of interviews
- Provide administrative support for recruitment processes
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Support exit interview follow-up efforts and analyze themes and trends
- Assist in the development of employee communications and job aids
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance the employee experience
HR Data, Metrics & Reporting
- Assist with tracking and maintaining HR metrics
- Assist in creating dashboards and reports for leadership
- Conduct research and support data-informed decision-making
- Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
Benefits & Open Enrollment Support
- Assist in developing open enrollment communications and materials
- Support scheduling and logistics for benefit-related meetings and consultations
- Assist in the review and proofing of benefits guides and assist with system testing (e.g., ADP)
Wellbeing Program Coordination
- Assist in the development and maintenance of an annual wellbeing calendar
- Coordinate quarterly wellbeing challenges with external partners
- Research and promote employee benefits and wellness resources
- Partner with Communications & Marketing to share content on internal platforms
Special Projects
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Conduct research and benchmarking on HR best practices
- Support cross-functional Talent & Culture projects as needed
Qualifications:
Required
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with HR systems is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Benefits & Salary:
The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour, with a scheduled commitment of 20 hours per week.
