Tax Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tax Specialist based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to support critical tax operations within a global healthcare-focused environment, combining technical expertise with systems innovation.
You will play a key role in ensuring tax compliance, improving processes, and supporting technology-driven transformation initiatives.
The position focuses on indirect taxation, ERP systems, and collaboration across finance, IT, operations, and external partners.
You will contribute to projects that improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in a constantly evolving regulatory landscape.
Working with diverse teams, you will help translate complex tax requirements into effective business and system solutions.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Accountabilities:
  • Act as a technical reference for Brazilian indirect taxes, including ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, withholding taxes, and related tax requirements.
  • Configure, maintain, and validate tax rules within ERP and tax management systems to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Support and lead ERP, tax system implementation, migration, upgrade, and optimization projects.
  • Perform system testing, scenario design, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate tax processes and electronic document requirements.
  • Validate tax rules associated with electronic invoices and documents, including NF-e, NFS-e, and CT-e.
  • Collaborate with IT, accounting, operations, and external consulting partners to resolve tax and system-related challenges.
  • Assess the impact of regulatory changes on business processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing tax expertise and documentation.
  • Monitor Brazilian tax legislation updates, including developments related to consumption tax reform.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on tax automation, system integration, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong professional experience with Brazilian indirect taxation, including ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ICMS-ST, CSRF, INSS, ISS, IRRF, and CIDE.
  • Hands-on experience with tax management solutions such as Mastersaf or TaxOne, as well as SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments with tax-related interfaces.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation, migration, restructuring, or transformation projects.
  • Practical knowledge of system testing, tax scenario validation, and compliance processes.
  • Understanding of statutory reporting obligations and tax compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with global teams and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical and business topics.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in project-driven environments.
  • Experience with tax automation, system integrations, LATAM tax operations, or tax transformation projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Spanish and experience with BPCS systems are considered advantages.
