Avon Health Center is looking for an experienced, compassionate Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to lead our nursing department and help us continue providing the exceptional care our residents deserve.

We are a family-owned, 120-bed skilled nursing facility where leadership is accessible, employees are known by name, and resident care always comes first. We're looking for a DNS who is visible, approachable and hands-on—someone who enjoys developing people, building a strong team and creating a nursing culture where employees feel supported while being held to high standards.

This is a 40 hour/week salary exempt position with on call responsibilities.

$130k-$150k DOE

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As our Director of Nursing Services, you'll lead the overall operation of our Nursing Services Department and play a key role in the quality of care throughout the facility. You will:

Lead, mentor and support our nursing team

Oversee clinical care and nursing operations

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations

Ensure appropriate staffing and nursing coverage

Make regular rounds and stay connected with residents and staff

Monitor clinical outcomes and quality measures

Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement efforts

Oversee nursing policies, procedures and standards of practice

Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally

Partner closely with Administration, Infection Control, Staff Development and other department leaders

Identify opportunities for improvement and develop effective plans of correction

Promote a positive culture of quality, accountability, teamwork and respect

Most importantly, you understand that excellent long-term care starts with strong leadership, engaged employees and a genuine commitment to residents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Current, unencumbered RN license

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

BSN preferred

Current CPR certification required

Long-term care, geriatric and/or rehabilitative nursing experience a must

Minimum one year of nursing administration/leadership experience

Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical standards

Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
