JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with co-occurring disorders. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform personalized treatment plans.
  2. Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
  3. Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety and well-being.
  4. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions, maintain clinical documentation standards within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  5. Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical guidelines, HIPPA regulations, and ethical standards.
  6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers-to coordinate comprehensive care for clients with complex needs.
  7. Maintain accurate medical records, document clinical notes thoroughly, and ensure compliance with HIPPA and other confidentiality requirements.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must possess a master’s degree or above in Counseling from an Accredited School.
  • Current AL license issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • CPR Certification
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy or mental health counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with children, adolescents, or individuals with development disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Strong background in crisis management, trauma-focused therapy (including PTSD care), grief counseling, and addiction counseling.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards.
  • Experience providing telehealth therapy services using secure platforms is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education needs and experience working with individuals in pediatric or geriatrics populations is advantageous.
  • Ability to apply research findings and evidence-based practices to clinical interventions while adhering to ethical guidelines in mental health care.

Combination of sitting, standing, walking, speaking and listening on a regular basis.
