Technical Direction Letter Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Direction Letter Manager based in United States.

This remote role leads the execution of Technical Direction Letters supporting complex modernization initiatives and mission-critical programs.
You will coordinate engineering and delivery teams, ensuring priorities, dependencies, and deliverables remain aligned.
The position combines program management, process improvement, requirements analysis, and strategic planning.
You will help establish effective methodologies, documentation standards, and workflows that improve operational efficiency.
Success requires strong stakeholder coordination, disciplined execution, and the ability to translate requirements into actionable plans.
Working across participating teams, you will track performance, resolve issues, and support incremental delivery of capabilities.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the execution of assigned Technical Direction Letters, coordinating activities and deliverables across engineering and delivery teams.
  • Establish and improve processes, methodologies, documentation standards, and standard operating procedures to strengthen program execution.
  • Analyze, refine, and document program requirements, including mission scope, objectives, resource availability, operational needs, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Facilitate planning activities, dependency management, issue resolution, performance tracking, and incremental delivery of modernization capabilities.
  • Assess developing frameworks and strategies, identifying opportunities to optimize workflows, production processes, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and team members based on program analysis, performance data, and evolving mission requirements.
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication across participating teams to support alignment, accountability, and timely execution.
  • Help identify risks, constraints, and process gaps and contribute to practical solutions that improve delivery outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with approximately 6–8 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent experience in place of formal education.
  • Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to hold the required clearance before starting the role.
  • Required certification: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), PMP, or PMI-ACP.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating technical or delivery teams and managing work across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of program planning, requirements analysis, dependency management, issue resolution, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to establish processes, develop documentation standards, and improve workflows in complex organizational environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and accountable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive initiatives through completion.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining effective collaboration across distributed teams.
