Job Description
Golden Pond Retirement Community is seeking a dependable, hardworking Housekeeper who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. This position is responsible for cleaning resident apartments as well as common areas throughout the community. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and has a genuine passion for serving seniors.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResident Apartments- Clean apartment kitchens, including countertops, microwaves, sinks, cabinets, appliances, and floors.
- Wipe and clean refrigerators and dispose of food or liquids that could present a health or safety hazard to residents.
- Clean and sanitize bathroom sinks, vanities, toilets, showers, floors, fixtures, and mirrors.
- Provide clean towels, bed linens, and toilet paper. When residents have their own bed linens, those linens should be used in place of Community-provided linens.
- Ensure all personal linens are folded and put away in an organized, neat, and wrinkle-free manner.
- Empty waste baskets, replace liners, and properly dispose of trash.
- Dust and clean furniture, windowsills, wall vents, fans, baseboards, light fixtures, blinds, and heating/air-conditioning units.
- Do not move breakable or fragile personal items for cleaning and do not handle or move resident medications.
- Vacuum carpets and sweep and mop hard-surface floors.
- Vacuum under beds, chairs/recliners, and along exposed wall spaces. Do not move heavy furniture that could result in injury; use vacuum extensions and appropriate cleaning tools to reach these areas.
- Clean mirrors and the inside and outside of accessible windows.
- Clean and maintain common areas throughout the senior living community, including hallways, lounges, dining areas, activity spaces, restrooms, offices, and other shared spaces as assigned.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and maintain an overall clean and welcoming appearance.
- Promptly address spills, debris, or other conditions that could create a safety hazard for residents, visitors, or team members.
- Demonstrate safe and proper techniques for chemical handling and use.
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning equipment and tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and appropriately stocked housekeeping cart.
- Follow all Community infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual conditions observed in resident apartments or common areas to the appropriate supervisor.
- Respect resident privacy, personal belongings, and dignity at all times.
Qualifications Required:
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual.
- Previous housekeeping, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have a genuine passion for working with and serving seniors.

- Knowledge of or ability to learn proper use of cleaning products, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment.

Working conditions
May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. Please wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
Physical requirements
Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting and moving over 30 pounds, sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours. Moving at a high pace for long periods of time.
Hours and Dress Code
We will supply uniforms but must be returned upon end of employment or $150.00 will be taken out of your final paycheck!
