Location: Anaheim, CA
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hourly Range: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour (Hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience)
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) to join our team. Reporting to the Program Director and working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), the CNA will provide healthcare services and assistance to participants at our Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing great client care.
- Greet clients and maintain daily sign-in sheets. Assists with record keeping pertaining to clients.
- Answering client’s needs and determining how best to assist them.
- Providing physical support for clients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including - toileting, walking, standing, exercising and transferring.
- Ensure clients receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output; reporting changes to LVN and/or Registered Nurse.
- Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate.
- Examine clients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
- Note observations of client behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms and report to nurses.
- Immediately reports to LVN and/or RN any signs or symptoms of client illness or other concerns regarding their health status.
- Assist in serving lunch and snacks, including seating, feeding, cutting food, etc.
- Assist with group exercises under supervision of RN.
- Assist with recreational activities, playing games, conversation, etc.
- Assists clients with getting on/off transportation vehicle and document arrival and departure times.
- Document of all aspects of the nursing care services according to program practice standards.
- Performs other tasks as requested under supervision and within scope of abilities.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have active State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Must have current certification in CPR and first aid training.
- Must pass post-offer physical examinations and obtain tuberculosis clearance.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have great communication skills.
- Proficient in computer use on a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office.
- Time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Bilingual a plus: Spanish.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Lifting and moving participants and must be able to assist participants with limited mobility, which may involve lifting, supporting, or transferring them to different positions or equipment
- The role requires extended periods of standing and walking, often moving between different areas and equipment within the facility.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching to assist participants, adjust equipment, or prepare work areas.
- Frequent interaction with participants, regularly engage with participants, which may involve physical contact, to assist them with exercises and movement.
- Constantly moves, transports, and positions clients weighing up to 75 pounds.
