About the role

Join our growing, established practice as we celebrate 23 years of being a locally and privately owned medical practice specializing in General Dermatology, Mohs skin cancer surgery, and Aesthetic Dermatology. Advanced Dermatology & Skin Surgery, PA is seeking full time Mohs Lab technician for Monday-Friday, no weekends. This position is responsible for providing technical support for Mohs Lab and dermatopathology operations to include CLIA-designated high complexity testing.

Responsibilities include preparation of Mohs frozen sections and routine paraffin embedded specimens. Duties include accessioning, labeling, mapping, grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, cutting and staining of Mohs surgical specimens, as well as biopsy and excisional specimen for paraffin processing, immunohistochemistry and special stains. Maintaining laboratory instruments, equipment, and supplies as needed. Compliance with all Quality Assurance policies and OSHA regulations and other lab duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of the laboratory, perform routine and specialty procedures, recognize problems, identify basic causes, and make corrections using established protocols.

Must meet CLIA standards for High Complexity Testing: 60 credit hours from an accredited institution, 24 of which are qualified science credits, with a minimum of 12 credits in qualified Biology and Chemistry courses.

Experience requirements include at least 3 months of documented laboratory training and experience in each area of high complexity testing. Minimum of one year in Histology Laboratory techniques preferred. Experience with frozen sections is a plus.


The pay range for this role is:
22.50 - 22.50 USD per hour(16 MPD)
