Body Shop Manager in Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania at Pennfleet Corp

At PennFleet, in partnership with our trusted partner True North Fleet Services we are looking for a Body Shop Manager to lead our heavy-duty truck and commercial vehicle collision repair operation in Boothwyn, PA.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day performance of the body shop, including workflow, quality, technician leadership, estimating, customer communication, and overall productivity. The Body Shop Manager will work closely with technicians, customers, vendors, and leadership to ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily operations and workflow for the heavy-duty truck and commercial vehicle body shop
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize repair work to maximize shop productivity and turnaround times
• Lead, coach, and develop body technicians, painters, and support team members
• Review vehicle damage and help develop accurate repair plans and estimates
• Oversee body repair, paint, prep, welding, fiberglass, frame, and structural repair work
• Monitor jobs from estimate through completion to ensure quality, timing, and customer expectations are met
• Perform or oversee final quality inspections before repaired equipment is returned to the customer
• Coordinate parts, materials, outside services, and vendors to minimize repair delays
• Communicate repair status, timelines, and changes clearly with customers and internal teams
• Monitor labor productivity, materials, cycle times, and other key shop performance metrics
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional shop environment
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with company safety and quality standards

Qualifications
• 3+ years of collision, body repair, or related heavy-duty repair experience preferred
• Previous leadership, foreman, production management, or body shop management experience
• Strong understanding of body repair, paint and refinishing, welding, fiberglass, and frame repair
• Experience estimating collision damage and developing repair plans preferred
• Ability to manage multiple repair jobs, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong understanding of technician productivity, workflow, and quality control
• Comfortable working with shop management and estimating software
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead by example and hold teams accountable for quality, safety, and performance
• Heavy-duty truck, trailer, commercial vehicle, or fleet collision experience strongly preferred
