Associate Underwriter

Location: La Jolla, CA; Edina, MN; Remote

The Details:

The Associate Underwriter reports to the VP, Underwriting and is responsible for providing underwriters with information necessary to make underwriting and pricing decisions (e.g. data entry, clearance, additional information from agents/brokers, modeling, mapping, and other administrative support from initial submission through policy issuance and renewal). This position provides support within established process workflows and guidelines that are responsive to marketing, underwriting, retention, and service goals. Candidates applying for this position need to have a strong customer service focus mindset combined with the ability to manage responsibilities in a timely, accurate, professional, and consistent manner.

What will you do:

Perform data entry, maintain service diaries, manage account clearance, and support renewal templating processesSetting up ILF rater with tower schematics and exposure detailsSetting up UW template with exposure & financial informationUpdate and maintain transaction logs, account documentation (ensuring accuracy and organized files), and internal information systemsSetting up ILF rater with tower schematics and exposure detailsSetting up UW template with exposure & financial informationSupport with maintenance of manual submission and transaction logs.Support with file organization/completenessSupport underwriters by assembling and processing quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and billing communicationsSupport with data entry into OYYO for new/renewal business for quotes/binders/policiesCommunicate with brokers and agents to gather additional account information and provide updates on account statusFollow up for missing documentation to facilitate with account review and file auditsProvide general administrative support to underwriters and other internal teams as needed

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry or related financial servicesStrong commitment to providing excellent customer service preferred.Collaborative mindset with adaptability to changing prioritiesProactive approach to achieving results and supporting team goalsAbility to quickly learn and navigate various technical platformsEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenProfessional, analytical, and flexible approach to workStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines

Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 + Bonus Potential & Participation in our Competitive Long-Term Incentive (LTI) Program.

The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of similar size and scope. To be compliant with local legislation as well as provide greater transparency to candidates, we disclose salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired job location.
