Job Description

Are you a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? At Guardian Access Solutions, we install and service access control and gate systems systems for clients across the southeast. We're looking for a skilled Service Technician to join our team — someone who enjoys variety in their day, thrives in the field, and knows how to deliver great customer experiences alongside great technical work. The Service Technician is an essential role with important customer-facing responsibilities maintaining equipment. No two days look the same here. One morning you might be troubleshooting an automated gate at a commercial facility; the afternoon could find you servicing access control hardware at a residential community or supporting an installation job on-site. If you like keeping busy, learning on the go, and being the person people count on — you'll fit right in.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Repair and perform maintenance on access control equipment and gate automation systems
  • Diagnose and resolve errors and technical issues in the field
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment running at its best
  • Install new equipment for residential and commercial clients
  • Log service calls accurately in our dispatching system, including time, services performed, and materials used
  • Educate customers on preventive maintenance best practices and safety measures
  • Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work and provides appropriate flexibility
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of electrical/low voltage/access control industry/HVAC or similar experience, including welding
  • Understanding of basic relay logic, basic electrical wiring, using a multimeter for circuit testing and practical applied experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service PARC equipment
  • Ability to perform independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and demonstrating a willingness to undergo on-the-job training as necessary
  • Proficient time management abilities, a strong work ethic, and a keen enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • General ability to learn software and software driven hardware to make programming changes to recording devices as well as access control panels in the field via laptop computer, keypad or local programmer
  • As a condition of employment, employer will conduct a background check and drug screen prior to hire
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to different work schedule, including on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors year-round in a variety of weather elements for 8+ hours a day, 40+ hours a week
  • Ability to understand, speak and write English

EDUCATION:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
