Job Description

Commercial Project Manager

Leola Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage the field crews and subcontractors performing slab masonry, block masonry, and structural framing across our active commercial jobsites.

This is a fast-paced, relationship-driven position operating throughout Hillsborough County, FL and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate serves as the primary liaison between our commercial clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, driving project success through seamless communication, strict schedule adherence, and rigorous quality control.

Who we are:

Leola Construction is a shell construction specialist serving Hillsborough County and the greater Tampa Bay area. We build the structural backbone of commercial projects: the foundations, masonry, and framing that carry car washes, storage facilities, gas stations, and other commercial builds from slab to structural sign-off. General contractors and developers trust us to deliver precise, code-compliant shell packages that keep their projects on schedule and built to last.

Our reputation is built on craftsmanship and accountability: tight tolerances, clean and safe jobsites, and trades that move in seamless sequence. As part of a network of construction companies, we pair the focus of a specialized builder with the systems, resources, and stability of a larger organization. We invest in our people, fuel positivity on every jobsite, and bring a love-to-win, hate-to-lose mentality to the work.

Here's what you get to do:
  • Manage Subcontractors & Crews: Direct concrete, masonry, and framing subcontractors and internal field crews across multiple commercial jobsites, holding each trade accountable for workmanship, productivity, and a clean, safe site.
  • Own the Structural Shell: Oversee the full shell sequence on ground-up commercial builds such as car washes, storage facilities, and gas stations (foundations and slab-on-grade, CMU/block masonry, and structural framing), from layout through structural sign-off.
  • Schedule & Sequence the Trades: Own the master schedule, manage milestones, and coordinate the hand-off between trades to keep every jobsite loaded with work and prevent costly downtime.
  • Florida Code & Inspections: Ensure work meets Florida Building Code, and build strong relationships with county building inspectors to clear threshold and structural inspections without delay.
  • Quality Assurance: Walk the work and supervise crews and subcontractors to enforce plumb, level, and square layout and workmanship that meets or exceeds project specifications.
  • Client & Engineer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, superintendents, engineers, and vendors, resolving RFIs and change orders quickly to protect the schedule.
  • Material & Resource Logistics: Manage material deliveries, inventory, and equipment scheduling so crews are never waiting on materials, pumps, or cranes.
  • Administrative Reporting: Accurately communicate project status, completed work phases, change orders, and field updates to the main office.
Here's why you're a great fit for the role:
  • Experience: 4 years of experience as a Field Superintendent or Project Manager, OR a 4-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business.
  • Commercial Expertise: Proven track record managing ground-up commercial construction projects such as car washes, storage facilities, gas stations, or similar builds.
  • Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with concrete slab and foundation work, masonry, and structural framing.
  • Project Leadership: Ability to effectively direct Field Superintendents and subcontractors while managing multiple project scopes simultaneously.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, professional communication, and the capacity to navigate unforeseen jobsite challenges and diverse personalities.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with construction management software such as AppWright, SupplyPro, or similar builder platforms is highly preferred.
What we offer:

At Leola Construction, we reward great work with a highly competitive base salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and the tools to do the job right, including a company cell phone, tablet, gas card, and vehicle allowance. We’re committed to your growth through professional training and clear career progression, and you’ll be part of a team that values integrity, accountability, and celebrating wins together.

Benefits:

  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
