Job Description: Program Supervisor

As a Program Supervisor, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care. You will oversee day-to-day program operations, supervise frontline staff, and support the implementation of services aligned with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Oversight:

Monitor and coordinate the implementation of foster care and youth-focused programs to ensure compliance with agency policies, standards, and applicable legislation.

Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that enhance attachment security, resilience, and physical/emotional safety for children and youth in care.

Staff Supervision:

Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, including child and youth care practitioners, caseworkers, and support teams.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, set professional development goals, and facilitate ongoing training aligned with agency objectives.

Client-Centered Support:

Ensure children, youth, and families receive individualized, culturally sensitive care.

Act as a resource and advocate for youth in care, addressing their unique needs, including behavioral, mental health, and emotional support.

Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.

Develop program schedules, assign workloads, and ensure adequate staffing levels.

Collaboration and Communication:

Foster partnerships with community agencies, schools, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

Represent our company in meetings, conferences, and other forums to advocate for children and youth in care.

Crisis Management:

Provide guidance and support during crises, ensuring staff and client safety.

Implement de-escalation strategies and behavior modification techniques as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in child and youth care or foster care services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, behavior modification techniques, and child/youth development.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, including child welfare laws and workplace safety standards.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Skills:

Certification in Crisis Intervention or Behavior Management (e.g., UMAB).

Experience with mental health challenges such as ADHD, autism, and behavioral disorders.

Proficiency in case management software and reporting tools.
