Visiting Nurse Health System is looking for an experienced and mission-driven Director of Nursing - EDWP to provide strategic leadership and oversight of community-based nursing teams, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care. Develops nursing policies, manages clinical and non-clinical leaders, oversees assessments, quality, regulatory compliance, and training, and partners with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve operations, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.This in-office position is based at our Hartsfield or Marietta office, Monday through Friday.

Job Overview:

The Director of Nursing for Visiting Nurse Health Systems’ (VNHS) Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program (EDWP) strategizes, leads, develops, and evaluates community-based nursing teams to ensure clinicians deliver high-quality care to vulnerable members. This role is responsible for developing and implementing nursing policies, managing both clinical and non-clinical staff, including the Team Lead for Admissions, Manager of Intake, and Manager of Assessments, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Director acts as a liaison between executive leadership, interdisciplinary teams, community partners, external providers, and regulatory agencies. They also work with the Executive Director of Operations (EDO) to streamline operations and achieve productivity goals. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the assessment process, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, maintaining quality, and overseeing the training of new Nursing Associates.

What you'll be doing:

• Directs all nursing operations and provides strategic leadership for the EDWP.
• Develops and implements clinical policies, procedures, quality initiatives, and corrective action plans.
• Ensures compliance with EDWP, Medicare, Medicaid, DCH, accreditation, and VNHS standards.
• Monitors clinical outcomes, member satisfaction, productivity, quality, and risk indicators.
• Leads complaint resolution, clinical investigations, documentation reviews, and risk management.
• Collaborates with medical, quality, assessment, intake, admissions, and operations leaders to improve outcomes.
• Provides clinical oversight, coaching, consultation, and performance feedback to nursing teams.
• Oversees assessment processes, clinical documentation, and coordination of member services.
• Conducts joint home visits and participates in assessment conferences as needed.
• Leads staffing, recruitment, interviewing, performance management, orientation, training, and professional development.
• Establishes regular team meetings and promotes open communication, collaboration, and accountability.
• Serves as the primary liaison with DCH for EDWP appeals and represents VNHS at hearings.
• Interprets and applies applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and program requirements.
• Promotes member safety, infection control, evidence-based practices, and continuous improvement.
• Partners with the EDO to streamline operations, address performance gaps, and achieve productivity goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with underserved or vulnerable populations.
