Title: Referee/Scorekeeper (Junior Jazz Referee Summer Seasonal)
Reports to: Athletic Director
Location: On Site at Sugar House Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake (Salt Lake City, UT)
Hours: Monday and Thursday, from 4:30-7:30pm
Age Requirement: Must be at least 14 years or older
Salary: $10-16/hour DOE
JOB SUMMARY:
Basketball Referees/Scorekeepers maintain the integrity of youth sports league games by regulating rules and guidelines as necessary. They assist in maintaining timeliness and sportsmanship, and they play a key role in ensuring the safety of athletes, parents, and community members.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure guidelines, rules, and sportsmanship are enforced
- Officiate assigned games for leagues and tournament play
- Assist in field and/or court set-up and take down
- Conduct safety and related inspections
- Report any field and/or court problems to Athletic Director
- Report any problems with coaches, players, parents, or spectators to Athletic Director
- Ensure safety of staff, participants, and spectators
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Age 14+
- Must have basketball knowledge
- Be willing to attend required trainings for youth workers
The pay range for this role is:
10 - 16 USD per hour(Sugar House Club)
