Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Analyst - FP & A will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis function of the finance department acting as a strategic finance partner to the organization providing insight and support to decision makers and will be responsible to prepare, analyze and interpret financial data and key performance indicators
Responsibilities
· Leads the preparation of the Annual Profit Plan, including organization of the various planning activities, consolidation and review of data for completeness, accuracy and conformance with established organizational and strategic objectives.
· Preparation of financial forecasts monthly for corporate departments, stores and business units.
· Act as a financial business partner supporting the organization to interpret financial results.
· Analysis of monthly results comparing actuals to forecast and budget and investigation of variances as well as presenting results to the senior management team. Proactively, identifying opportunities or potential risks to profit plan and forecast. Working closely with leaders to determine root cause and rendering course of action.
· Preparation of daily store sales flash analysis dashboard.
· Perform profitability analysis by business unit including relevant operating analysis and related metrices.
· Prepare analysis and reporting of store profitability, including compensation, hours and salaries and other related retail store KPI’s.
· Preparation of monthly reports of financial results versus plan and forecast by means of the monthly financial review package.
· Supports the preparation of financial information presented to the Executive leadership team, Board of Directors and various other stakeholders including power point presentations.
· Performs ad-hoc performance measurement analyses and reports to support senior management.
· Performs and reviews financial accounting analyses for external reporting purposes.
· Develops financial models, analyses and dashboards to support strategic initiatives as well as planning and monitoring of financial performance, as required.
· Participates in a wide variety of special projects in support of senior management.
· Identify opportunities and implement optimization & automation of current processes.
Knowledge and Skills Required
· Bachelor of Commerce with Major in Accounting or Finance
· Professional Accounting/Finance designation (CPA / CBV / CFA) – an Asset
· 3-5 years relevant industry FP&A experience.
· Retail experience is an asset.
· Financial consulting experience is an asset.
· Strong financial and analytical capabilities, creative thinker, demonstrates ability to provide actionable insight to decision makers
· Ability to deliver in fast paced environment, highly driven, self-motivated
· Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills, financial modelling experience preferred, experience with other BI tools is an asset
· Detail oriented with high standards of precision, highly organized
· Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple deliverables, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal – English and French)
· Comfortable to present financial results and analysis to a variety of audiences
· Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken
