Job Title: Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager
Location: Newark, CA
Department: Procurement
Reports to: Chief Supply Chain Officer
Position Overview: The Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) to lead strategic sourcing, supplier performance, NPI supply chain readiness, cost reduction initiatives, and supply chain risk management across global operations. This role partners closely with customers, suppliers, engineering, program management, planning, and procurement teams to drive operational excellence, supplier development, and continuous improvement. This position reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead supply chain strategy and execution for NPI programs, customer onboarding, and production ramp activities.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support cost, quality, delivery, and business objectives.
- Manage supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Drive supplier quality, corrective action, and continuous improvement programs through scorecards, QBRs, and KPI reviews.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through alternate sourcing, business continuity planning, EOL management, and supplier diversification.
- Support Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), DFx initiatives, and collaboration with Engineering and Program Management teams.
- Analyze market conditions, commodity trends, lead times, and supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions.
- Lead cost reduction, total cost of ownership, and cash conversion improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, performance metrics, and executive-level reports.
- Support the development and implementation of global supply chain processes, systems, and best practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for critical supplier and supply chain issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- APICS, CPSM, CPM, or related certifications preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Quality, or related disciplines.
- Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments preferred.
- Proven success managing supplier relationships, cross-functional projects, and supply chain improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier quality, planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Epicor, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Office and manufacturing environment with occasional travel and off-hours support as business needs require.
